DLR is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. It has been given responsibility for the planning and implementation of the German space programme. The DLR magazine "COUNTDOWN" informes of the German space policy. It provides an overview of current issues and projects within the National Space Programme. In addition, the quarterly publication deals with topics from the German space industry.

In the COUNTDOWN issue 29 SPACE IC together with the DLR Space Administration published the article "Electronic Components: A Tiny Chip Manages Power Supply in Light-Weight Satellites". This article provides insight into the usage of electronic components in the power management and distribution within satellites, its challenges and solutions for cost savings by efficient point-of-load architectures, standardisation and miniaturising.
